JOB SEEKERS BEWARE

Welcome to the real world of AMI Direct.

This company claims to be an event based sales, marketing and distribution company.
The description of their company profile on careerjunction is more confusing.
If you browse through their company profile, you will notice a list of unfamiliar products.Such as innovage, vivitar, disney, etc.
They also describe applications sales such as credit card, cellular contracts and financial policies as part of their dealing.

Now you start to wonder how events come in...

Well they offer bulky management jobs on job sites like careerjuction, indeed, bestjobs, simplyhired, jobmail, trovit, jobisjob, jobrapido, etc.
That includes for instance events management trainee and junior management jobs.
The job description is short and simple to read, especially when you desperate for a job that does not ask for much. They just look for people who can pose proffesionalism even if they lack experience as they are willing to train their staff to the top,too good to be true.Application is simple, email CV and in 2 days or so you get a call for interview at some powerplace building in ferndale. The physical address that they give out when calling for interview is 261 Oak Ave Randburg.
I have noticed that the same physical address on their careerjuction company profile has been removed.
If you take a close look, you will notice that there is no board or branding with the name AMI Direct on it(see the picture attached).

This is how it works. This is not based in a lavish office or anything a management position offers. But it's about working directly with customers.

Have you seen people in nice formal attires at a mall selling cosmectics?Well that's what the job is about, except ofcourse they have a wide range products, cosmetics included. There is no event unless if a sale takes place or when customers complain about their products. There is no recognised company trading by the name AMI Direct in SA.So as an applicant you get a contract by Innovage of which they claim is one of their products in their profile. When instead they sell Innovage products.

See these people place a misguiding job advert to attract jobseekers and only to find it time wasting for those who are really looking for a job they are qualified for.

There are some complaints from those who were unlucky to go through the exhausting experience.

  4. oh my word, thank you for saving me. I applied for a post online today 28 May 2012 and they called me today (puzzled), did some research and landed on this browser http://www.amidirect.com. I then received a call from a woman named Nicole from +27110244172 but the call cut. I received an immediate sms telling to go to 261 Power Place Randburg but because I have been searching for a job lately there was no company name given. I tried calling the nr to find out which company it is and the nr was invalid, searched google via the address and I landed on this site. Oh My Word, shocked for days. Now im super worried because my id number is on my C.V. I dont want to be another case of identity theft.

  11. Wow! I was job searching on JobSpace and noticed many different ads had been placed to attract people looking for entry level jobs and funny enough ALL the ads had the same address 261 Oak Avenue! I took the number of the one ad and it was some "Jenny" chick who promised to get back to me the next day.Funny thing, a NICOLE called me saying she had received my cv(didnt say where from) and invited me for an interview to some company that she said so fast i didnt quite get but it sounded like GrowthPoint and the address she gave me was 261 Oak Avenue. Jenny then called me about 10mins later inviting me for an interview AT THE SAME PLACE,so i assumed it was the same company and told her Nicole had already called me. Jenny laughed nervously and claimed that they were SISTER COMPANIES so I should go to Nicole's interview. As always, I research companies before I go for an interview and since I had already seen the Dynamic Vision site, i figured I should fine its "sister company" and there was nothing!! Then I googled the address and this "PowerPlace" building and voila!I found this blog so thanks so much guys! You may have just saved my life...these people are evil, dangerous and out of their minds!!! It would be nice if someone went for an "interview" with a whole squad of cops!!!!!

  16. Hi Guys, this is weird. I spoke to a woman named Claudia from a company called AS Marketing. I applied for an ad on gumtree like the rest of you, and they wanted to meet the next day (today). I thought it was a little fast, but I asked of we could reschedule. She said ok, she'd get back to me. She phoned me saying she would let me know the details today. Which she did. She texted. Well, I decided to google the address so that I could see what the place looks like; and do a little research as well. And I ended up here. By the way you've seen the picture on google maps streetview? Kinda creepy. So I called Claudia to cancel yet again. I wanted to see how she would react. She was way too perky. She couldn't get me off the line fast enough. Actually she sounded panicked. I have the horrible yet relieved feeling that you guys' helped me dodge a bullet. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  17. super duper strange, went for an interview today despite thinking it shady as i could not find their website or any information. the company calls itself IP marketing, got the with a group of other people who where also there for an interview and we went into the interview in groups. the starange thing is the guy who was interviewing us wizzed throught the info as though he does this all the time and it was reharsed, we were told some of their clients are the edcon group, virgin mobile and cell c to name a few. the building Power Place had the name power place on it and did not look shady at all (even had security), not at all the building on the picture, what was shady was that we would be receive training over a period of 8 months by which who would be at snr management position, then we would be given our own office space and furnishing to lead our own offices and nothing really on what we would be doing. the more astonishing part is that they said they would same afternoon to inform us if we are through for a second interview. so many people and it takes them just a day to sift their potential candidates wow madness i tell you. this so messed up though, even want to check with edcon group, virgin mobile and cell c-just to see if they are aware that they are being used.

It was apparently a marketing managers post. it was a group interview and it seems as tho tehy wer callin random ppl who some ddnt even fit the criteria n others ddnt even knw what jobv they wer being called for. in the interview room they had signages that they wer doing marketing for major retail such as edgars, woolworths, clicks n so on. they interviewer mentioned thy interviewed 40 ppl tht day and would sms us between 3pm-4pm tht evening if we wr successful. as they req nly 10 canidates.i was quite shocked tht i ws nt successful because i had all the qualifications and exp for the position n tody i see the post readvertised which reali did shock me n thn i get a sms tody frm growth point consulting calling me for an interview so i googled this company n i found this site.

  21. Wow why am I not suprised, not long ago I was a victim of an sms that promised a thousands that I have won from the rica campaign. This week i was almost a victim of a job scam, if it were not for you guys i would have gone to the interview of mine that a chinese Leo somebody scheduled for Monday. Thank you so much guys, their adress for the interviews has changed by the way, its in crn Albert and Ellof in some building I don't know that I was gonna find on Monday. I'm also one of those that does research about the company first before leaving for the actual interview. Edcon was used in my case, guy said they are running interviews for Edcon. The reason why I was sceptical about this is because I applied for a promotions job, which they adevrtised on Gumtree so I couldnt put 1+1 together in terms of how Edcon has anything to do with promotions because they don't need promoters to promote clothes. Who in the hell promotes clothes? My told me I should compare the addres used in the ad and the one I have been emailed and yey my gut was right, I lended on this blog. I personally asked to be emailed the adress hoping to be able to get the name of the company because the guy that called was very quick when mentioning it but nah it wasnt there just Edcon, Cell C, dstv etc logos were at the end of the email. As for the Dynamic Vision marketing company, I don't even have the words to speak about them. The Jenny woman called me as well and I told her that I am a fulltime student, so I guess I couldn't be a target soon enough but she gave me her numbers and asked me to call her when i am ready to start working...too good to be true I know. Guys I am lost for words, when we retaliate we are called xenophobic but what does one do when foreign national come to my country and steal from my people. The rica scam Nigerians called me and stole from me, the job scam its chinese...what should we do with such. Thanx guys, you just saved my ass from another scam.

  22. Hi Guys I thought the following might interest you guys. I Have been at home unemployed for the last month ryt and have go 4 interviews where this scam has been going on (Medizone And Power Place). Please see below:
    1. A potential employee gets an sms from the company "inviting" you for a interview. Strange thing is...Legitimate companies do not send out sms's.
    2. The Sms's are sent from a Neotel phone which is not connected into the wall. Strange thing is...Shouldn't a legititmate company have genuine phone lines. At Medizone In Northcliff they had about 40 of these phones. To Be Honest It Seems As The Physical Offices Are set up to be picked up at any time and just dissapear.
    3. The Potential Employee has to fill out the exact same form (Medizone and Power Place) which askd you nothing about your qualifications. Questions such as "Are You Willing To Learn?" And "Describe Your Confidence levels out of 5" are present on the questionaire.
    4. You do not enter the interview room alone. At Medizone Myself and another applicant were interviewed together and at Power Place there were 5 of us at once. What legitimate company does that?
    5. The Same Statement Is Used. "We Are Not Looking For Sales People What We Are Looking For Is Future Managers Of This Company"..."Do What We Tell And Don't Ask Questions And I Will Make You A Rich Man."..."Remember don't listen 2 any1 who has any negative comments because one bad apple spoils the bunch."

    4. Companies that work with Edcon cellc etc, should have an online profile large companies are supposed to. If they are as great and large as they claimed to be in my interview why does their building look the way it does large companies are worried about things called company branding and image they have no image, not even a company sign, why do 6 people get interviewed together and why would they be so unethical wanting people to work from 6-6 really thats against the basic conditions of employment act. The forms i filled out at the interview were so unprofessional! No company logo or anything. They also mentioned a fee of R400 that i would have to pay, why do i need to pay if they looking for people to train. The receptionists and staff are so unprofessional. I also researched further and looked at most of the online job sights we have i found about 5/6 company names with the same address and landline number i also noticed they had two different cellphone numbers under each add and there were 7 different names in each advert but the same cell numbers thats when i realised thats unprofessional i phoned the one number that had a mans name in the ad but instead a woman answered. she was so rude when i started questioning her about my confusion, so defensive! Please tell me how youd actually consider working with a "company" like that? I have a connection at Carte Blanche and we are currently investigating this.

I work for one of the business' there. I love it! There's tons of really great people working there. There's money to be made fun to be had and loads to learn. If you want to look at the building as an office park not a building. The different business' represent different clients, and we are really working with the big brands you guys are speaking about.

Instead of listening to other people's opinions you should really go and see what its all about. You can't bad mouth something if you haven't been 100% involved in it.

    2. what is amusing about hat you people are saying here is the fact that you are the only FEW to talk of these companies in such good light. don't you find that worrying?

i mean, these people have been scammed or were about to be scammed by these "sister" companies which is very unfortunate. for all WE know, you may be part of the people who are the main members of the company who aim to scam people.

if you where so confident about these companies and you had so much faith in them, you would have written your name instead of anonymous!

      #just saying. :)

The process of deduction my friend: A business owner would pride him/herself on their communication abilities (After all, that's one of the things that any manager should excel at), you do not. You are unprofessional, illogical, and honestly quite annoying. Please stop it.

  26. Wow guys, I'm so heartbroken. Went for my final interview yrsterday and got offered the job. Was so happy until I landed on this site and read everything. But I'm glad I know better now. So instead of marketing they make you sell products? Please inform me

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If you had been in a final interview it would mean that you would've seen what they do there. It is direct marketing which means you speak to people face to face and promote the clients brand as well as do sales. Isn't that what promotions and marketing is?

I also went on a 2nd round interview. The guys are so motivated its great to see. It's a different concept which scares people but I was also offered a job, the only problem is I live quite far away from Randburg to travel there everyday. Would enjoy working with such nice people.

      Still unemployed. Blah

      Delete
    2. People do not apply thinking they'll be involved in direct marketing. These companie(s) mislead people into thinking that they are applying for managerial positions. If its really a good job,am sure it would have motivated you to move and not make an excuse of distance. So I'm guessing it was not good enough for you, like the rest of us.

  27. I too was approached similarly by a "Stephanie," at an "IP marketing company," located at the above mentioned "261 Oak Ave Power Place". I was supposed to have an interview tomorrow morning (9:30am),however for obvious reasons will no longer be going. I am absolutely gutted and sickened to learn of their deceptiveness. So tomorrow, at about 9:25am, I am going to call "Stephanie" and say, "'Stephanie', I am so sorry for the late notice, but unfortunately I will not be able to make our scheduled meeting due to the fact that I have just learned that your company does not exist. Thanks for the offer, but no thanks."

  46. I was always suspicious of a company that couldnt tell me the job scope and couldnt email me, had no website and could only correspond via sms (really in 2012???). I have been evading these various companies for a while now and have dealt with Stephanie and Meri from IP Marketing, AS Marketing (they now have a website). Maybe they arent trying to scam us but a company should be forthcoming about the position you are applying for and should be able to answer your questions without being all nervous like the CIA is tapping their lines. When i tried to reschedule my one of my many interviews- Stephanie told me rather not to because the job might be already taken- it was on a first come, first served basis (as if i was going to a buffet). well that was the final nail for me. maybe i am missing out on my dream job (sarcasm) but i have no interest in finding out.

  47. oh and Iconic Marketing is a bit dodge as well, even though there is a website- its a bit sketchy. you can investigate yourself but i don't have an interest in things that aren't straight forward. The thing that made me weary about Iconic is that it was the same procedure - Stephanie and sms to say bring cv and wear formal at 261 oak avenue. Too much dodginess for my liking.

Please guys let us be careful of thing like these. Please sign a contract before you start working so that you have an agreement with the company you working for. This will help you to take further if they refuse to pay you. Please watch out

Now that I think about it, why would they not use proper grammar? It is definitely unprofessional for a firm that requests people to dress formally!
Unfortunately I was already on my way there. When I checked my email, I had received nothing.

I'm so saddened by this! I should just head home.

  66. So, I was invited for an Interview for 18th Feb by Jessica at 12:30pm, I went for the interview despite reading all these comments because I wanted to see for myself what exactly is going on there and I also asked for the name of the company before I went.
Anyhoo, the building does not at all look like the one on the pic displayed. Its a very nice grey building and the inside is very well designed as well, met a nice (coloured) lady at the reception area (maybe that was Jessica).
Along with four other individuals I was interviewed by the Manager and maybe you guys have terrible listening skills, but to my understanding the position they have is for a Training Marketing Manager - where individuals will be trained up to Management Positions where they will be representing clients such as Old Mutual, DSTV Mobile, Edcon, Woolworths, Neotel, Ackermans, Vodacom and Virgin Mobile. The position is basically face-to-face or direct Marketing. (I asked a lot of questions during the interview, didn't want to be scammed)
He also explained that during the first six months you would only be earning via COMMISSION - depending on how quick you can develop yourself. I think its more like a Learnership?
For someone who studied Marketing, this is exactly what I am looking for especially since I don't have any working experience, and these guys can get me to a Management position with no experience? I'm anxiously waiting for that call where I will be attending the second Interview! Wish me luck! :)

  67. Yup. This is by far NOT a scam. All it is is a program designed to train you toward a managerial position within the company FOR FREE!!!!! Through commision.

People are too quick to judge. Mxm.

The person who started this blog was an idiot who got fired and realised he would fuck things up.

You idiots that lie and say they want money..thats completely FALSE! Why would it still be running if that were true?

    GET A LIFE

I know all this because I work there, I am gaining the skills I wanted to gain. Hek its tough being in the field but no1 said it would be easy.

I am soooooo upset by these false comments.

Go there and find out in order to make an EDUCATED Decision!

  68. So here's my experience thus far..

I went for an interview this past Friday. Was told to be there at 12h30. Got there on time only to find +- 15 other people waiting to be interviewed. Firstly, telling 15 people to come for an interview at the same time is very unprofessional. I waited there for almost an hour before i was called into the office. The guy interviewed us as group (his explanation being "i'd like to see how well you interact as a team as in this job, team work is of utmost importance."). Anyway shortly after the interview, i recieved an sms inviting me to come in for a second interview on Mon 25Feb (which is tomorrow).. Whilst trying to prepare for my interview I googled the company name: "Growth Point Consulting." and theres no trace of them anywhere on the net. I googled the company address and came across this. (Thank the Lord!).. I've finally put 2 and 2 together

Red Flag #1) I found the job posting on pnet on Thursday. The advert was very vague and unelaborate, so instead of sending my details to that random email adress (It was a gmail email address. I mean which company operates on a gmail account??) I decided to call. spoke to a woman named Ashleigh who told me to come in for an interview the following day. Was told to bring a hard copy of my CV along. I asked Ashleigh for more information about the company and she didnt really say much. She just named their clients and told me to ask my interviewer for more info.

Red Flag #2) The interviewer rambled on and on about their major clients ( Edcon, Neotell, Ackermans, Cell C etc) without being specific about what the actual job entailed. When i asked him for a job description he gave me a blank stare and said "That's what ive just explained." He's response really bewildered me as i do not recall talking about who your 'major clients' are as being a job description. Although i was quite confused i didnt enquire further on the matter as I thought it was a legitimate interview and did not want to be viewed as incompetent.

After having seen all your comments above i decided to give this Ashleigh woman a call to find out what exactly is going on. The phone went straight to voicemail (with an indian man telling me to leave a message.) So im guessing its a faux number..

Red flag #3) As stated by all of you above, this company tends to change its name every couple of months. That should serve as a clear indication of dodgy happenings. I read somewhere above that they called themselves IP Marketing yet i know them as "Growth Point." (cont..)

    1. Hey you dumb ass Perdm has close to 70 companies in SA they dont change names they just are different owners

      Delete
  69. (continuation of my comment above..)

I'm still abit confused though. Firstly, what do these people have to gain out of this? Why have they not been reported? Why waste everybody's time and money? What are they going to do with our personal information?

I can't make a judgement as to whether their scammers or not but one of the most NB lessons i've learned in my 21 years on this earth is that where theres smoke, there is almost always a fire so let me save my energy and petrol and stay at home tomorrow morning. I do not know what they're up to and to be quite honest - i dont think i want to know. I'll just extract the relevant lessons from this experience and move forward.

    Lessons for Job Seekers:

Lesson #1): When job seeking. Do NOT be afraid of asking questions. (No matter how uninformed you may think you sound). Perhaps if i had enquired more over the phone AND at the interview i would've come to the conclusion that this company is dubious before having found this site.

Lesson #2) ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS research the company before going to an interview. If they do not have a webiste, that should serve as an instant red flag!

(being new at this job seeking thing i must admit to being a lil bit naive in this whole process. I'm just grateful i found this site in time as i suspect i would've wasted my time and money going there for a second interview tomorrow.)

    LESSON LEARNED!!!

Be weary, be vigilant, and be inquisitive when job hunting!

Goodluck on your future endeavors everyone. Don't lose hope. A job that's meant for you WILL be yours. Keep showing the world your light and stay on purpose. You will attract the job of your dreams! :)

I actually find them clod hearted for making money on poor individuals who go out and sell on the streets.

  82. hey.. I sent my cv on Monday and got a call Tuesday saying I should come for an interview on Wednesday. The lady who called, named Chantel, sounded so unprofessional over the phone...but me being desperate for a job, chose to completely ignore this. Wednesday I was there, went for the interview and he same day got a call back from them saying I qualify for the next interview, I got excited and went the next day again (yesterday, Thursday). Well, as I'm waiting to be called up, the guy next to me who was busy on his tablet, turned and showed me this very website. We started reading all the comments left on here. AND at this time, I'm DEFINITELY FREAKING OUT HEY! I call another girl to come see this and she too starts freaking too...At this time they call the guy sitting next to me. He goes and when he came back he said that they were explaining how they'll be taking him out to "The Field" where they'll give him a stack of cards and should then go out, where he'll be convincing people to open a bank account with this card. NOW NOWHERE DO THEY SAY THEY WORK WITH A BANK. NOW YOU TELL ME, IF WE SHOULD GO OUT AND SELL THIS BUULSHIT TO INNOCENT PEOPLE, WHERE DO THOSE MONIES GO WHICH THEY WILL BE PUTTING INTO THE "BANK ACCOUNTS". I left as soon as I could, so did my 2 friends.
    Thanx Missy for this.

  83. There are many companies like this out there aspecially in the randburg n cbd area. Some of them also branch out to different cities like pta, durban n cape town. Although some of them do sell n distribute legitimit products and services. The offer an easy to get job. But they promise a training programe and a management position. It is unrealistic that all candidates will be managers without qualifications n they prey on ppl desporate for work... To name a few of these companies real promotions, podium marketing, pdm marketing, ip marketing, pb marketing amoung others. These companies mentioned are legit n they do have legit clients and products bt they make ppl believe that they will after training be a top manager n become rich. Which is nt true.

  92. Let me break it down to ya'll.its a marketing organization with about 8-12 companies within that is why you hear all this different names.they do direct marketing and do all diferent types of products.the likes of dstv, virgin mobil,vodacom...etc.now if it was a scam why would these companies be involved.the problem with most of you is that you dont ask enough questions in your interviews that is where the confussion comes in.and POWERPLACE is the name of the building the company name is PERDM...I suggest that the next person that gets a call asks the administrator calling questions and lets please not go dragging peoples names and companies through the mud like this.

  97. Wow! English...
I have an ex-girlfriend that worked there 2008.
I even accompanied her to work one particular Saturday, I still even remember the guy who trained her... His name was JP! White guy, spikey hairstyle and even asked me to work for them. Unfortunately I had a very good and better payin job then so I declined.

Dress Code: Black formal. Working hours:6-6. Remuneration: Commision!

Basically selling a lot of THINGS! Toys, games, etc!
Not office based, you hit the streets all day!

It's sad that today I'm not working, unemployed as I am I've rejected a whole lot of jobs. And meanwhile was getting ready for my interview with A.S Marketing since I'd been applying all over and guess what?! Sounds like that company, no actually it is! Different names and addresses!

I found an email sent to me on Thursday, I responded today telling them to pardon me as I only just saw the email today(Monday) and I'm available immediately! The lady Joanna Victoria responded promptly from a gmail address and told me I'm booked for an interview tomorrow at 11:00am.

I was so excited and thought let me google, saw a complaint on Hello.Peter and then I knew something wasn't adding up. Found several ads and some had the Oak Avenue address, different from the new address they had given me “THE VALLEY CENTRE ROODEPOORT!”

In a nutshell, I do agree with one of the comments that ITS MEANT FOR SCHOOL DROPOUTS and I swear I could rather be a waiter too as opposed to this. Or unless of course an individual wanting to feel the pressure of face to face selling, we as people don't have the same aspirations, goals and desires!
Maybe for some its a dream job, but I know myself... I can't dzeal!

However I honestly am not going there tomorrow and I don't need such a job when I have such a vast experience in the corporate world.

NB: There's a lot of jobs out there and all we need to do is keep applying, patience is a virtue! You can't expect doors to open if you don't have faith... And you know the saying FAITH IS THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR, AND THE EVIDENCE NOT SEEN YET!

You need to start somewhere, in-order to be somewhere in life... It's all about choice! I have nothing against anyone who wants to earn an honest living, but this is definitely not for me! I AM NOT EVEN GOING TO CALL AND LIE THAT I CAN'T COME! I'D RATHER SPEND THAT MONEY MAKING CALLS TO LEGIT JOB ADVERTS!

  105. I have also been invited for an interview 2day. I suspected that there's is something wrong with the company. The lady called and told me that I have been selected for an interview. I could hear that its an absolute scam when communicating with her over the phone. She was so unprofessional. I asked her to sms me the directions. She took 3hrs to send me the text. I immediately called her and the number was deemed invalid. I checked the address that she has given me and saw this blog. The fact is that most of us are desperate for employment. We become victims of these scavengers. Life is tough, with or without qualifications. Our brothers and sisters graduates every year from bogus institutions. Each and every company should have a website. I have been victimised before. I am very careful now despite my desperation.

  109. I went there too,and if they are a big company they claim to be then y isn't there a mission statement, with their goals and objectives at da reception like most organisation or even a website.

Not to mention being interviewed by the owner of the so-called 'big' company which was odd coz most 'big' companies have a human resource department which does these things. And also the absurdity of being interviewed with 5 pple at once.

  119. People that are busy posting comments saying its not a scam are part of the scam... If this company was real it would have a website.. It wouldn't change names daily ..it would post legit advertisements...... Today its called cho tah inc marketing... Or leo cho tah... Its all a scam.. Nothing is real.. There is no basic ,this people will waste your time and money.. 1. What kind of company invites applicant to an interview via a cell c number +27741993937 2. What company calls you for an interview 10 minutes after you sent a CV 3.any company that has 'any name' then Marketing is fake.. Its either they sell insurance ,virgin mobile ..and you get no basic salary.... Do not waste your time... And don't worry about your CV's they will not do anything.. They are desperate ,they want people that will be fooled by this pyramid skeem.. And it doesn't pay.. They products don't even sell.... DO NOT GO.. A legit company will call you with 011 ,013 ,021 ,012..etc and they will reply after a week or so..

  120. yes this is a fraudster organisation that is in existance so far - thanks to bribing corrupt official otherwise it should have ceased (it is more organised crime). Remember all lawless pple are roaming the street for yrs with noone taking action. This organisation doesnt pay you first month-its commission only remember and that very commission you will never ever get it ! If you are too hungry for a job and complete second mth they will find an accusation to justify non payment. Remember you will be selling and issuing leaflets at robots like a mad person. Dont forget no contract is signed. Any grieverence wont stand becoz they are recruiting daily monday to sunday for 365 including christmass. It changes name a million times mk marketing; dav; as marketing ;perdmo etc. Infact they are not all that learned accept good swindlers - also some of us are not clever how can a company invite u via sms ? Telling u what to wear for interview (giving u answer for a test). A company with no website in this age. Kkkk recruiting daily in every site - you jobseekers what type of job is that you expect - why are others leaving for it to recruit 24/7 ? They are now experts and making money from free labour. Lastly these pple had added more misery to many jobseekers who exhausted all their saving some even going third month to recoup

Saw the ad on Pnet and called, the following day I got an invite for an interview at, wait for it... 261 OAK AVENUE RANDBURG!! I googled this address for directions and that's how I came across this blog. The way this company is described here is exactly how it is, dodgy, no info about them on google, Does not seem corporate at all. I got two sms from an 0762243814 number inviting me for an interview. Normaly companies would use bulk sms services that normaly have those loong numbers for this.

any way thank you once again MISSY for creating this thread!!

  130. Ladies and gents please beware there is a similar company called vision marketing at the valley centre in roodepoort. The manager claims to have some degree in Psychology I worked there for about two weeks and yes they also have the signage for brands such as Edcon,Dstv and woolworths and apparently they help you setup your own company. They promise to train you and you can get to management in less than a year. To my knowledge professional sales people are at least suppose to be given petrol allowance if you're using your own car but this company does no such thing. The staff is encouraged to look at the big picture and think about the money they will make once they get to management, this is used as a motivation tool. They help you setup your own company as soon as you get to owner/ manager and you duplicate the business model. My problem with this company is that it violates labour laws and some of these training managers are not professional sales people within the stores, thier training program is the worst I've come across does not deal with the underlying problem of moving goods from the stores to the actual customer. They place high emphasis on getting excited about the product to get a sale in today's world( the birth of the empowered consumer) , which in all honesty is pathetic. However, somehow they seem to have entered into an agreement with stores such as Hi-fi ,Dionwired,Makro, in Woodmead and Makro in strubensvalley. There is a manager who has recently opened up his marketing company called JC marketing in Roodepoort and in Pretoria. I don't know how legit they are but it really pisses me off when companies take advantage of people who are less knowledgeable .If you're between the ages of 18 and 25 or 30 ( depends on the company), have no work experience and no qualification you're just the catch their looking for. Vision marketing owner is Davita and JC marketing is Jacque, thereis another company called IV marketing within the premises the owner is Mohamed . They cut costs big time but at the expense of the staff , I didn't receive a contract of any kind and they did not bother asking for my banking details. They have an unorthodox way of training their staff but it is not so effective, because of the type of individuals they attract they honestly give sales people a terrible reputation . If the owner of Vision Marketing at Valley Centre makes R100000 per month(so I was told) can she not get her staff petrol cards really now or organize transport to get them to the field. The talk about how much money you can make is what keeps a lot of them there, they prey on those that are desperate for a job. Somehow if you inquire deeper about the payment structure you will know that you're not getting much and there seems to be a case of tax evasion in the case of income taxes. Tip always look at the calibre of individuals within the company and do a proper background check before you commit to something.

  136. Just saw their advert on Pnet looking for Store Clerks, i was busy applying when i decided to research their company profile, fortunately i came across this Blog, then immediately i cancelled my application. I guess the Almighty is on my side. I was fooled by Real Promotions before, i just can't forget what they did to me. Was invited for my 1st interview which lasted for 2minutes,then they told me that i will receive an sms for my 2nd interview. On my second interview we were introduced to some trainers after that, those trainers they took us to a petrol garage they said it is our training.we waited there watching them selling their products to motorists who came to the garage, then each trainer will come to his/her group they will start asking us questions then we must write down the answers.we were there the whole day,if you want to eat or go to the bathroom you need permission from your trainer. I couldn't bare the pain i was feeling,my feet was sore from stading long hours with heels, they told us that after that training we must return back to the office,i was gatfol i took my bag and left. I told them that this is not what i applied for,i have a family two kids and a husband i can't work from 6am to 6pm. They should have told us in the 1st interview what this job is all about, then i would have made my choice whether i come back for second interview or what, instate they told us this information on the second interview.

  137. To everyone that doesn't believe these comments I'll give you some insight coming from someone who worked there for 6 months!!!!! It was the worst job experience I have ever had. Here's why:

    1) YOU pay THEM to work for them.
You have to use your own car or bum a ride in someone else's car to get to your destination. You have to pay you're own petrol. They give no compensation. And if you can't afford it? Rather stay away than get shat on infront of awhole ooffice.

    2) HOURS
they say you work from 6:30 till 6:00..
That is only applicable for about a day then you get pressurized to be there before 6 so your "crew" ( groups within the office) can look better and then tonight when you return don't think you can leave at 6pm... oh no! Now you debrief, then the Manager wants to see you and evaluate your performance. Then you stand around and wait for who knows what till about 8/9pm then finally you're allowed to leave.

    3) Commission!
No basic, no transportation levys. NOTHING! And then they say they will not be paying in all your money (which is paid weekly to avoid taxation) so they can put it in a "savings account" for you. Now I know this is a lie. Then best part is, they don't tell you how much you made for the week or give you a payslip. You must accept the payment you receive. Sound dodge enough yet?

    4) you work 7 days a week, NO holiday, no day off!!!! No exception!

    5)RESIGNATION
The day I phoned my boss to make an appointment for a meeting, my boss's first reaction was whether I want to resign? I said yes and my boss said I shouldn't bother coming back. I asked for all my money to be paid in asap.. I NEVER saw my money again! They refused!

    6) CONTRACT
You only sign a contract after about 3 months and god forbid you take it home. You get 5 minutes to sign it ( you can't even read through it) and boom you never sew it again!

    7) REFERENCING: obviously I put the work experience in my cv. After being denied 4 jobs I finally asked why and the response every time was: "Your previous boss gave us a negative referral and said you are unreliable, non-committed and unable to perform to there standards" which is shit because I resigned due to the emotional abuse I goy from my manager.

So if you don't believe me, go try it! I did and see where it got me.... pennyless and frustrated for wasting my time.

    JUICE!

  146. The nerve.

My girlfriend went for the interview at 261 Oak Avenue, same company and all went well. She even found that what they do is exactly what she used to do when she worked for Edcon not so long ago. True, they wanted her to come start a few days later. We did not think much of it but now the guy who interviewed her, not sure if he is the owner, has been making moves on her and keeps sending her WhatsApp messages asking that she reconsiders.

That being said, I hope guys warn their girlfriends. And girls, be warned. I don't like what this guy is doing trying to convince my girlfriend otherwise and I won't even entertain it but it might be habit that they now defend their name when caught and try to convince people otherwise. Better yet they also probably make moves on your wives, girlfriends, sisters and friends.

    NOT GOOD!

  147. To think I almost quit my job today because of "the interview" with so called Growth Point. Good thing I checked their profile first. This isn't really a scam coz they actually give u a job. I also went to one of these companies here in pta nd when I trained (followed someone to Edgars) they enjoyed their jobs. It goes with how each person views it, I left coz it wasn't what I applied for and simply wasn't interested in opening accounts for people that's all. All they need to do is STOP misleading people by appealing ads, that's unfair and illegal. Anyhow all things work together for our good because our God is faithful and loving. Yal stay blessed and be attentive to the voice of God to avoid falling into traps and scams. -Love Koketso

  157. Ja guys i must say, i have experienced these people and have worked for this so called perdm group, i will be honest with everyone, if you are young, don't have any ambitions in life or you are really desperate, consider this, however if you can still go to school and study, get your qualification and get a job that will bring dignity in your life, this is not for everyone and those who really are desperate feel it because you pay your way through everything in this business and you work long hours etc, my personal opinion is that if you have a matric and or any other higher educational qualification, go find a better job that won't bring misery in your life, this is not a job that a normal person would do, you really have to be stupid, gullible and or naive to carry this job to management.
